Association Services Coordinator (Joliet, IL)
Location: Joliet, IL
Program or Service: The National Association of QIDPs (NAQ)
Schedule/Shift: Part time, 20-24 hours per week
Salary Range: Negotiable (based on education & experience)
About the Program:
The National Association of Qualified Intellectual Disability Professionals (NAQ for short) has been providing educational opportunities for disability professionals for 25 years. A great deal has changed in that time but our focus on providing outstanding tools and resources to disability professionals in order to improve and enhance the lives of people with disabilities has not waivered.
Do you relate to people easily? Do you like to exercise your creativity? Are you skilled in using a computer? Do you consider yourself highly organized with an eye for detail? Are you a “go-getter”? If so, this may be the perfect position for you. This is not the kind of position where you do the same thing day in and day out. You’ll have an opportunity to work on many different projects and initiatives which is, in part, what makes this such a rewarding position.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally. Excellent organizational skills, aptitude with computers and software, and knowledge of and proficiency in social media are critical skills for this position. Prior experience working with or supporting someone with a disability, a knowledge of person centered thinking and a commitment to implementing strategies in support of that mindset, and an undergraduate or graduate education in the human services field are preferred qualifications.
