Work Hours:  8:30-5:00pm; M-F

A Day Treatment Therapist is part of a team of mental health professionals. The primary responsibilities involve designing and implementing group and individual counseling, as well as community support and implementation, to adults with severe and chronic mental illnesses. Group therapy topics may include interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, anger management, men’s and women’s issues, nutrition, or well-being. Employees may have the opportunity to participate in weekly seminars to receive training in the above-mentioned models. Additional responsibilities include ensuring the individuals’ treatment plans are being followed, engaging individuals in physical activity, encouraging individuals to engage in positive interactions, assuring documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner, participating in team meetings and trainings and supporting the program coordinator in the day-to-day activities. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of counseling psychology, social work, or other human service-related fields

Salary:

  • $42,000 base salary for Bachelor’s degree
  • As a non-for-profit organization, employees may be eligible for federal student loan forgiveness programs
  • Opportunity for tuition reimbursement for continuing education
