POSITION OVERVIEW

Trinity Services, Inc. is looking for a full-time school Occupational Therapist to work at Trinity School. It’s a rewarding, enriching career that helps children and young adults with disabilities develop their motor skills. This person should be highly organized, positive, and has the ability to handle multiple tasks. As well as prepare and plan engaging gross and find motor activities that meet the individual needs of students served. JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Develops and implements Individualized Programming Plans that meet of needs of students and clients.
  2. Provides direct and indirect occupational therapy services as specified in each students’ and clients’ Individualized Programming.
  3. Task Analysis of OT motor skills to determine areas of student difficulty and strengths.
  4. Provides training to special education paraprofessionals, and others as appropriate, in carrying out day-to-day activities designed to enhance student’s motor goals.
  5. Support Behavioral Management

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of strategies for students and clients with autism, developmental delays, specific learning disabilities, and behavior disorders.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human development throughout the life span and integrates with students unique developmental status.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and use of occupational therapy theories, models of practice, principals, and evidence bases practice to guide intervention decisions.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, parents, families, and community members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program recognized by National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and completion of all fieldwork requirements.
  • Certification as an Occupational Therapist by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Hold state licensure from the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
