POSITION OVERVIEW
Trinity Services, Inc. is looking for a full-time school speech and language therapist to work at Trinity School. This person should be highly organized, positive, and has the ability to handle multiple tasks. As well as prepare and plan engaging language and communication activities that meet the individual needs of students served. JOB DESCRIPTION
- Develops and implements Individualized Programming Plans that meet of needs of students and clients.
- Provides direct and indirect speech and language therapy services as specified in each students’ and clients’ Individualized Programming.
- Plans, implements and monitors activities that allow students and clients to access and benefit from their specialized instruction. The focus of these services includes, but is not limited to: speech sounds, language, literacy, social communication, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and feeding and swallowing
- Provides training to special education paraprofessionals, and others as appropriate, in carrying out day-to-day activities designed to enhance student’s speech and language goals.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of strategies for students and clients with autism, developmental delays, specific learning disabilities, and behavior disorders.
- Demonstrate knowledge of child speech/language pathology principles, assessments, methods, etc., and current developments in the field.
- Demonstrate knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Demonstrate knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, parents, families, and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited college or university in the discipline applicable to assignment.
- Educator License issued from Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Certification as a Speech and Language Therapist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR)
