Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000

Our student centered focus give you the opportunity to see each’s student’s ability versus their disability. As the teacher you will have creative freedom to design activities, interactions, outings, and materials that meet the individual needs of the students in your class.

The Special Education Teacher is a key member of the team; offering specialized support and interventions for a small group of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Trinity School is located in the New Lenox area.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has the drive and passion for serving students with disabilities

  • Communicates clearly and with honesty

  • Wants to be part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team

  • Has knowledge of special education policies and procedures

  • Implements an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students and shows written evidence of preparation as required.

  • Is creative and organized

  • Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and behavioral needs of students on your caseload.

  • Collaborates with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEP’s.

  • Has a Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of special education with the proper professional educator licenses and endorsements.

  • Is able to work Monday – Friday, 8am-3:30pm and participate in all school events and meetings.
