Staff Development Receptionist 0122N (New Lenox, IL)



SHIFT: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30a to 5:00p

DEPT: Staff Development

REPORTS TO:  Director of Staff Development


The receptionist position is responsible for answering telephone, schedule appointments, greeting and assist employees, basic data entry and producing basic documents.


The Staff Development Receptionist is responsible for the following functions:

  1. Greets and welcomes visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  2. Answers telephones, directing callers when appropriate and takes and delivers messages
  3. Maintains the appearance of public areas ensuring cleanliness and organization
  4. Completes general filing
  5. Assembles ancillary materials such as workbooks, facilitator guides, manuals etc.
  6. Maintains training materials and supplies ensuring adequate inventory
  7. Accesses and inputs data into databases such as ADP, AHA and Learner Connect


  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word
  • Strong interest in learning Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to follow complex directions
  • Requires a High School Diploma


  • Be able to lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted
  • Be able to complete deep knee squats
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop and
  • Physical activities that could be used include: balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
