Trinity and STRIDES Host Memorial Day Petting Zoo Fundraiser to Support the New Lenox American Legion!

JK 1

Trinity Services and STRIDES Therapeutic Riding Center and Farm will host a Memorial Day Petting Zoo fundraiser on Saturday, May 25, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm.  Admission is $5 per child.  In honor of those who served our country, as well as Memorial Day and Poppy Day, all proceeds and donations will benefit the local charitable work of the Thomas E. Hartung American Legion Post 1977 and the Women’s Auxiliary in New Lenox.

Get up close and personal with the STRIDES animals including horses, a mini cow and mini horse, lambs and goats, pigs, rabbits, a guinea pig, chickens, and even a hedgehog!  Learn about general livestock facts, grooming, care, and horseback riding.

STRIDES is located at 27655 S. Gougar Road in Manhattan, Illinois, 60442.  For more information contact Laura McLawhorn at (815) 263-0085 or email Laura at

Jenna Kaiser, an employee of STRIDES and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary, helped organize the fundraiser.  “Coming from a military family, serving Veterans and honoring their fallen comrades is a true passion of mine,” Kaiser said.  “As a proud member of the New Lenox American Legion Auxiliary, I am so grateful to Trinity for hosting this event.”

Throughout the month of May, the American Legion Post 1977 Auxiliary in New Lenox will be collecting donations for Poppies at our Legion Post located at 14414 Ford Drive in New Lenox.  Stop in for a poppy!  You may also make a donation and receive a Poppy at the checkout counters at the Berkot’s Supermarkets in New Lenox every day from May 18 to May 31.

We look forward to seeing you at STRIDES on Saturday, May 25, 12:30 to 2:30 pm.
