A person experiencing a mental health crisis was safely rescued from a pond near 80th Avenue in Lakeview Estates in Frankfort on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, police said.

Police said the individual was rescued and is now receiving the care they need, thanks to the coordination of multiple agencies.  In addition to Frankfort, Mokena, and Manhattan police and fire departments, Trinity Services also responded to the incident, talking to the individual and his family, and encouraging the person to get checked out.  All of the first responders and the family members were very complimentary and appreciative of Trinity's support.

"Your dedication and teamwork were instrumental in ensuring a safe outcome," said a spokesperson for the Frankfort Police Department.  "Situations like these remind us of the power of partnership and the importance of mental health awareness in our community."
