Trinity SNAP Update: No One Supported will Go Hungry!

Dear Trinity Families and Friends,

As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying the fall weather.

Because of the ongoing government shutdown, hundreds of people supported by Trinity Services will lose access to their SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits on November 1, 2025.  These benefits help cover the cost of groceries and essential nutrition for the people with developmental disabilities and those with mental health needs in our residential program.

Without these SNAP funds, Trinity Services must step in to fill the gap—an unexpected monthly cost of approximately $100,000—to ensure that no one we support goes without food.

Trinity is committed to providing nutritious meals and maintaining stability in the lives of the people we serve.  However, we need your help.

We are asking our Trinity family – people like you who understand the importance of dignity, independence, and compassion – to help bridge this critical gap.  Your donation, of any amount, will directly offset food costs for the people who are most vulnerable to this disruption.

Please give today to help us continue the care and security that everyone deserves, regardless of government assistance.  To make your donation now, go to SNAP DonationsWe appreciate your generosity.

In just a couple of weeks, you will receive our Annual Appeal in the mail.  If the impasse is resolved and SNAP benefits restored, we will apply your generous gift toward that important fundraiser unless you specify otherwise.

Thank you for your continued trust, generosity, and care for the people we serve.  Together, we will weather this storm.

Sincerely,

Thane A. Dykstra, Ph.D.
