Trinity Services Hosts The Green Escape Earth Day Event!
JOLIET, ILLINOIS – On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Illinois State Senator Rachel Ventura, who represents the 43rd District, presented The Green Escape Earth Day Event, to raise awareness of environmental protection and promoting sustainability, such as combating climate change, pollution, recycling, and deforestation. Senator Ventura’s staff includes Jessica Wimbley, Chief of Staff, and Liz Regnier, Office Manager, as well as interns Cameron Baltrum, Ava Grubb, and Julio Ruiz.
The event, held at the Trinity Services Community Health Center at 2000 Glenwood Avenue in Joliet, featured several green organizations including willcountygreen.com, Illinois Extension, The Morton Arboretum and the Chicago Region Tree Initiative, Wild Ones, C.A.R.E. and Sustainability at JJC.
“My team did a terrific job pulling this all together, said Senator Ventura. “We’re very excited that we had all these amazing community partners who joined us to talk about some of the issues we have right here. It’s really important to hear from our local residents about their concerns regarding the environment and what is happening in our communities.”
The beautiful weather brought out a nice crowd. Attendees had the opportunity to take home plants (including trees), meet nature experts, and do a variety of hands-on activities. Trinity Services also handed out information about their various programs. People with disabilities supported by Trinity Services also came to enjoy the festivities.
The featured activity at the event was a demonstration of tree planting by representatives from The Morton Arboretum® and the Chicago Region Tree Initiative.
“This is the first annual Green Escape Earth Day Event,” said Jessica Wimbley, Chief of Staff. “We are looking forward to continuing this event in the future.”
