Perfect Weather Prompts Record Participation at Trinity Triumph 5K!
NEW LENOX, IL – On Tuesday evening, June 23, 2026, Trinity Services hosted its 16th Annual Trinity Triumph 5K Walk and Run at the Village Commons in New Lenox. This year’s theme was “Ready, Set, Glow!”
Five hundred and forty-five runners and walkers participated in the event, shattering the previous record of 325 in 2025. Each participant received a race t-shirt and medal that glows in the dark, along with a swag bag full of sponsor items.
The weather was picture perfect for the runners and walkers as they made their way through the beautiful Wildwood subdivision just south of the Village Hall. New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann and Sherry Ladislas, Trinity’s Director of Fundraising, welcomed everyone and started the race.
The first female across the finish line was Kristin Kotara with a time of 19:13:00. The male finisher was David Wojciak in a time of 18:02:00.
“It was an absolutely beautiful night for this event,” said Thane Dykstra, President and CEO of Trinity Services. “We want to thank everyone for their participation and their generosity in helping people with disabilities and mental health needs supported by Trinity Services to flourish and lead full and abundant lives.”
Sherry Ladislas, whose team managed the event, was very grateful for the amazing turnout. “Trinity would like to thank our incredible sponsors, volunteers, CERT volunteers, New Lenox Emergency Services, Trinity staff and people supported for making this the best Trinity Triumph ever,” said Ladislas. “We hope to see everyone again in 2027.”
